Drago? PREDA is currently advisor on defense policies at the Ministry of National Defense,
Department of Defense Policy and Planning, Directorate of Defense Policy, a function that he holds since
1 July 2008.
Ever since his appointment in office, he represented the Ministry of National Defense at the Third
Annual Baltic Conference on Defense (ABCD), Tartu (Estonia) - September 2008, and on other bilateral or
international meetings (France, Armenia, Austria, etc.). As of February 2010 he was appointed in the
European Union section, dealing with issues related to the European Defense Agency (EDA), European Union
Satellitary Center (EUSC), civil crisis management (having a direct role in the elaboration of the National
Strategy on civil capabilities), civ-mil and NATO-EU synergies, National Center of Post-Conflict
Reconstruction.
In May 2010 he attended the civil crisis management course organized by the Romanian MFA, as the
NETWORKING FOR PEACE FORUM 2010 (26-28 May): Peacekeeping and the Protection of Civilians in
Armed Conflict: Reflections on UN Security Council Resolution 1894, held in Vienna (Austria).
In July 2010 he was youth coordinator for EURODEFENCE Romania, at the EURODEFENCE
IVth Meeting of young Europeans held at Saint-Cyr Military School and in August the same year he attended
the first Alliance of Civilization summer school held in Aveiro (Portugal) under the auspices of H.E. Mr. Jorge
Sampaio.
In the Autumn 2010 he attended two more courses on post-conflict reconstruction – organized by
UNDP Romania and MFA, as on European Security Defense Policy – organized by the Austrian and Romanian
MoD.
Beginning with 2007, when, as a young associate researcher of the Romanian Center for Global Studies,
he co-organized the Conference “European Elections in Romania – between domestic and European politics –
transfer of know-how”, he was involved in the organization of various events related to problematic of
international and regional arena.
During the last years he collaborated at several books on the history of international relations and
diplomacy (1968. The Prague Spring; Romania-FR Germany. Diplomatic Relations, vol. 1 1966-1967;
Romania at the Paris Peace Conference 1919-1920, vol. 1; Alexander Telemaque, Diplomatic ephemerides
(1906-1912); USA-Romania. Diplomatic Relations 1912-1919, etc. He also published “La sécurité régionale du
Sud-Est de l'Europe – De la Petite Entente et l’Entente balkanique à l’OTAN” in the Euro-Atlantic Studies,
no 11/2007, Romanian Determination, Securing Democracy. A model path to NATO (Serbia, 2006), as well as an
article on Romania’s accession to NATO in the journal of Loyola University – New Orleans (USA).

Drago? PREDA holds a Licence and a Maîtrise diploma at the Faculty of Political Science, Paris 1
Panthéon-Sorbonne University (2003-2005), with the specialization – International Relations. A year later he
